Bye Bye, Bébé Douceur

Karla Homolka's online business, Bébé Douceur, has disappeared.
Apparently, now that her clientele knows she did 12 years in prison
for rape and murder sucked all the fun out of hocking diapers.

Note: Children's faces have been obscured for their protection.

  1. Yessss!!! My guess is she will probably try to start another online business dealing in baby apparel. And she will be discovered yet again b/c most people don't forget about child rapists & murderers. Most of all, I sincerely hope she's not still teaching children ESL in Guadeloupe!!!

    1. Since her own kids are pretty well done with diapers, I doubt we'll see her trying to get back into the kiddie clothes business. And as far as I know, she most certainly is still teaching in Guadeloupe.

  2. She disabled the online store, but left up personal info such as her pseudonym Emily as well as 2 of her children's names. The woman still does not cover her tracks very well.

    1. I guess she can only be bothered to care so much... Notice, however, that you'll never catch her posting pictures that show her own face; she takes care to guard what's truly important.

    2. And... She learned her computer skills in prison, which may explain a lot ;)

  3. They say her products were well made and worth the $$. And she really does knit beautifully.

Her online store never really bothered me. We have a prison in my town and i know prisoners there make alot of leather goods that are popular w/ locals. I just think people should know who they are interacting with ( parenting forum, babycenter, etc). Dear old "Emily" struck up a few friendships, and I doubt they knew who she was until she was outed. But now that she has been, I don't see much discussion about her, which I find odd. I was expecting to see threads dedicated to her and her crimes.

    1. She has just a few friends on the only profile (that I can tell) that she's currently using, and I have a funny feeling they know who she *really* is because they all act like they're afraid of her.

Yes, Emily! That's beautiful, Emily! Please don't drug me, rape me, murder me, and dump my body in a lonely ditch, Emily!

  4. Her products are made by the same hands that raped, tortured & murdered 3 innocent young girls. The same hands that cut off Kristen French's hair & made her eat it before brutally killing her. The same hands that tortured & dismembered Leslie Mahaffy...I wouldn't go anywhere near her products, nor could I sleep at night knowing I bought products from the monster who perpetrated such hideous crimes.

    1. Thanks, Anon, for your thoughtful comment; you left me a little teary.

The only way I'd go anywhere near anything made by that beastly woman is with a blow torch.

  5. See, this is just where I'm a tad conflicted.

I don't wish any happiness for this monster. I hate that she appears to be living a " normal" life w/ kids. But I also think that she needs to support herself. I'd imagine the best way to do this is behind the scenes.

I'd rather her knitting blankets than teaching kids. Apparently, she's doing both.

How are her neighbors ok w/ this?

  6. There shouldn't be any "conflict" - the scumbag ruthlessly tortured & murdered 3 young girls, drugged & raped countless others with her husband. Kristen French fought the hardest - defying her captors & rapists until the bitter end. A leopard doesn't change its spots. Homolka/Emily Bordelais only feigns "normalcy" now with her new motherhood fisad. I personally dont give a shit how she makes a living. She can die homeless in a ditch for all I care. That would be a more merciful death than she gave her victims.

    1. I tend to agree with Anon on this. I think I would feel differently about her ambitions if they didn't all involve children in some way or another. As she has been convicted of heinous crimes against children, I think it's just absolutely gross that she is now earning a living by accepting money from parents who want the best for their kids, and have no idea who they are supporting when they purchase her products or enrol their children in her classes.

I think it's important to remember that Karla is hardly on her own, struggling to make ends meet as a single mom. She is married to her lawyer's brother and they live with his parents. Clearly, they have enough funds at their disposal to travel back and forth from the Caribbean to Canada in order to enjoy the best of both climates. I haven't a doubt that if Karla were unable to teach or hock diapers, those children would be well provided for.

I honestly don't give a shit if she's able to support herself or not. 12 years in Club Fed was the easy part; now she's got to live in the world she so deeply wronged.

  7. I just wonder then how do her in-laws feel about their son marrying a sick, demented rapist & murderer?! If it were my son I would probably disown him, let alone let him and his demon wife LIVE with us! How scary.

    1. I assume the Bordelais clan collectively subscribes to the theory that Karla was another of Bernardo's victims rather than a willing participant in his deviance. Hell, there were members of the Bernardo jury who bought her battered wife excuse hook, line, and sinker -- and they had the opportunity to view the sickening tapes that the general population has only heard about.

Incredibly, there are still a great deal of people in this world who don't think a woman is capable of doing anything other than what a man tells her to.

  8. Have you read Paula Todd's book about Karla? I haven't read it yet, but I was wondering what you thought about it if you have. In my opinion, someone who is capable of murder does not have a conscience. I've always wondered if she has that maternal instinct with her children, or if she only had them because that's what her husband wanted.

  9. She had kids for the same reason many celebrities do - it's the thing to do to make yourself appear as if you are a certain kind of person. It's a fashion statement.
