Luka Magnotta
Usually, I take any "news" about Luka Magnotta with a grain of salt. For years, the wannabe male model slash porn star has been associated with the likes of convicted murderer
Karla Homolka, although evidence that the two have actually been linked - romantically or otherwise - is painfully lacking. Most critical thinkers who have heard the rumours seem to think that Magnotta cooked the stories up himself if for no other reason than to further himself as one of Canada's most unrepentant attention whores.
And then, I glutted myself on the news of the day...
Montreal police announced earlier today that they are seeking Magnotta as a suspect in the grisly body-parts-by-post incident currently dominating Canadian headlines:
"A headless, limbless torso was discovered in a suitcase with a heap of garbage Tuesday at Place Lucy and Decarie Blvd. in Montreal’s Snowden neighbourhood. At about the same time Tuesday, an employee of Conservative Party of Canada headquarters in Ottawa opened a package that contained a severed foot. A second parcel containing a hand was later located at a Canada Post sorting facility in Ottawa."

Web sleuths were reportedly the first to point out that the "lunatic" in a viral video depicting a violent murder with cannibalistic overtones bore a striking resemblance to Magnotta, who had previously been accused of posting videos of himself killing kittens using a vacuum cleaner and a plastic bag. One video nasties site in particular, BestGore.com, has temporarily blanked out due to a flood of incoming traffic in the wake of news reports linking the video,
1 lunatic 1 ice pick, to Magnotta and the grisly packages sent via Canada Post.
Police are seeking the public's help in locating Magnotta:

Investigative leads led investigators to a home Decarie Boulevard, also in the Côte-des-Neiges, where they conducted a search. In addition, biologists Laboratory of Forensic Science and Forensic Medicine were asked to analyze some elements of the scene.

Currently, concrete elements, enabling the police to believe that events are linked. However, before concluding beyond doubt that a link exists, investigators await the results of pathological expertise.
